About Me

I am an Information Science student with a strong interest in the intersection of software engineering and machine learning. I enjoy building systems that are not only technically sound, but also practical and usable. From structured back-end systems and data pipelines to machine learning models that balance performance, interpretability, and efficiency. I tend to gravitate toward clean abstractions, modular architectures, and designs that scale well over time. Alongside my studies, I work as a teaching assistant for Introduction to Programming. In that role, I help students develop their coding skills, guide them through challenging concepts, and support them in building confidence as problem solvers. Explaining technical ideas in a clear and accessible way is something I genuinely enjoy. I also serve as a student ambassador for the IK program at the University of Groningen, where I represent the program during open days and help prospective students get a realistic sense of both the academic experience and student life. Beyond machine learning, I have experience with software architecture and data management, including relational databases and structured system design. I enjoy thinking about how components fit together, how data flows through a system, and how to design software that remains maintainable as it grows. Whether it’s experimenting with ensemble models or structuring complex relationships in code, I like building things that are both elegant and functional. Outside of my academic and technical work, I work as an assistant cook, which has taught me how to stay organized and perform under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. In my free time, I enjoy working on side projects, cooking, and spending time with friends, often through game nights that revolve around fun and a bit of friendly competition. I also have a broad taste in music and enjoy unwinding with online content and animation. Overall, I’m motivated by creating meaningful systems, continuously improving my skills, and contributing to environments where learning and collaboration are central.
